Privacy Policy

Overview

CommunityConx is operated by CommunityConx LLC. We take your privacy seriously and collect only what we need to run the service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

What we collect

Account information

When you sign up, we collect your email address and organization name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google—we don't access your contacts, calendar, or any other Google data.

Billing information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.

Usage data

We collect basic analytics on public calendar pages: page views, filter usage, and whether a visitor is new or returning. This helps organizations understand how their community calendar is being used. We don't use third-party tracking scripts or sell this data.

Public website content

We crawl publicly accessible websites to extract community activity information. We respect robots.txt directives and rate-limit our requests. We don't collect personal information from crawled pages—only event and activity details.

Email submissions

If someone emails event information to an organization's submission address, we store the sender's email address, message content, and any attachments to process the submission. This data is visible only to that organization's administrators.

Mobile app

The CommunityConx mobile app works without an account—you don't sign in to browse, save, or get reminders.

Location

With your permission, the app uses your device location to pick the community nearest you. This happens on your device—your location is not sent to our servers and is not used to track you or build a profile. You can decline location and choose a community manually.

Favorites

Activities you save are stored on your device, not in an account on our servers.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules reminders for activities you save (for example, before a registration deadline). These are local reminders scheduled on your device—we don't send push notifications from our servers.

In-app calendar

The app shows the same public community calendar as the website; the anonymous usage analytics described above apply there too. The app does not use third-party trackers or advertising.

How we use your data

  • To provide and improve the service
  • To send transactional emails (login links, invitations, submission confirmations)
  • To process payments through Stripe
  • To provide usage analytics to subscribing organizations

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate CommunityConx:

  • Google Cloud Platform — hosting and database
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Anthropic (Claude) — content extraction from public sources

Each operates under their own privacy policy.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie (__session) to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. A localStorage key tracks new vs. returning visitors for anonymous analytics.

Data retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. If you cancel, we retain billing records as required by law (typically 7 years for tax purposes). Activity data from crawled sources is refreshed regularly—outdated records are replaced, not accumulated.

Your rights

You can:

  • Request a copy of your account data
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Ask us to stop crawling a website you control

Email support@communityconx.com for any of these requests.

Children

CommunityConx is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated by email or dashboard notification. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
